Step 1
Open
iTunes and check to make sure that you have the most recent version. Do
this by clicking on "Help" and then click on "Check for Updates."
-
Step 2
Use the cable
that comes with your iPhone to connect it directly to your computer.
This will automatically launch iTunes. Select "iPhone" from the iTunes
source list. Click on the "Info" tab in iTunes.
-
Step 3
Click on the "Sync Outlook calendars" option. Click on "Apply" in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. Your computer will now sync with your iPhone based on your settings.
Sync Your iPhone With Your Google Calendar Using iCal
-
Step 1
Sign
into your Google account and go to your Google calendar page. In the
left bar of the page, click on the downward arrow that's next to the
calendar you want to sync. In the drop-down menu, click on " Share this
calendar."
-
Step 2
Click
on the "Calender Details" tab. Next, scroll down to locate the "Private
Address " section at the bottom of the page. Click on the green button
labeled "ICAL." This will open a pop-up window that has the URL with
the private address for your calendar. This address must never be
shared with anyone else, as it gives full access to your Google
calendar. Highlight and then copy this URL to your clipboard (Control +
C)
-
Step 3
Launch
your iCal application from your Dock. Go to "Calendar" in the top menu,
and then click on "Subscribe." Paste the URL from your clipboard here
(Control + V) into the pop-up dialogue box. Click on the "Subscribe"
button. This will subscribe your iPhone to your Google calendar, and
will open an information window.
-
Step 4
Type
a name and description for the calendar into the appropriate blank
fields. If you do not want to import the "Alarms," "Attachments,"
and/or "To Do items" from Google, then check the box next to the
option/s that you do not want.
-
Step 5
Choose
a time interval from the drop-down box labeled "Auto-refresh." This
will determine the frequency with which iCal will refresh Google
Calendar.
-
Step 6
Click
the "OK" button. Your Google calendar will now be listed in the
left-hand pane of your iCal window. Now, the next time your iPhone
syncs, it will update all your Google calendar events as well. top

How to Sync Your iPhone on Two PCs
-
First you need to have your iPhone already synced with one of
your computers. This will be Computer A for the rest of this article.
-
Step 2
Now
on Computer A, you will want to find the "iTunes Music Library.xml"
file. For MAC users this file is found at "/Users/[your
username]/Music" for Windows XP and older it may be found at
"Documents and Settings[your username]My DocumentsMy Music" and
for Vista users it will be found at "Users[your username]Music"
Open it with notepad or some basic word processor.
-
Step 3
Once
you have opened this file in a word processor, look for the tag
"string" after "Library Persistent ID," in between those tags is an
alpha numeric code you need, it should be 16 characters long. Take this
code and copy it somewhere or write it down so that you can use it again later on the other computer.
-
Step 4
Now go to Computer B, the one you would like to sync your iPhone with as well, and make sure iTunes is closed.
-
Step 5
Now
locate the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file on Computer B as well. Refer
to step 2 for assistance with this. Once you find the file, create a
backup of it, one easy way to do this is to copy and paste it in the
same folder. The computer will create a copy of the file with a
slightly different name.
-
Step 6
Now
open this document with a word processor and repeat Step 3 by locating
the code and copying it to a safe location as you will need it for step
8. Now replace the code with the one you copied from Computer A in Step
3. Go to File>Save then close the document.
-
Step 7
Install
a hex editor if you don't have one already, I recommend Tiny Hexer,
which there is a link for at the bottom of this article.
-
Step 8
Locate
the file "iTunes Music Library.itl" with your hex editor. Once this is
open, go to Edit>Find and Replace. In the find field, enter the code
from COMPUTER B, you should have copied this code somewhere during Step
6. Hit FIND and it should come up with 1 result, now hit the REPLACE
button and enter the code from COMPUTER A that you got in Step 3 then
hit REPLACE again. Now go to File Save and close.
-
Step 9
You
are now down. It is best to setup each PC to sync something different,
this setup is perfect for syncing music from one PC such as your home
one and Email, calendar, contacts etc from your work PC. If you try to
sync up music from both PCs then the music library must be the same on
both PCs or your library on your iPhone will get changed every time you
sync. top
